I prefer to use FOSS software. There is a risk of getting malware from pirated software. Even if there is no malware, commercial software usually has lots of tracking and telemetry anyways.

I’ve got an old Motorola AMPS phone around somewhere that has a charging cradle that will fit either the whole phone or the battery on its own. Most commercial two way radios still work like that, I wish they would still make phones like that too.

The dual laptop batteries are handy too. I’ve got a Thinkpad T480 and it can hot swap the external battery. The high capacity battery lasts so long that you rarely need to swap it, but if you use the slim batteries, you will need a couple to get through a whole day. Unfortunately, that’s the last Thinkpad model that can hot swap batteries.

You can still get it from F-Droid. It’s a much better app store anyways. The google play store is mostly full of ad filled crap.

The only reason to have such fast internet at home is for torrents. Nothing else will saturate 10G, even with several people using it.

They shouldn’t have made it so bloated then. The 2003 version opened fairly quickly, even on a late 90’s computer.

You know not to trust that site with any more information. Once the alias is deleted, anything sent to it will result in a delivery failure and you won’t get any more spam from anyone they sold that address to.

If your mail server supports aliases, you can make one for each site you sign up for. Then if you start getting a bunch of spam, you can delete the alias and you will know which site sold your information.

Some TLDs that are well known for spam get blocked. If you stick with a .com, you will usually be fine if you are using a decent mail server.

It probably just needs the drives to use a format with unix file permissions. I have a mix of ext4 and btrfs and Steam has never had issues with that.

If you want to tinker with it, stay away from that DJI crap and build your own. Then you can get more than a flight or two without something burning up.

Just use yt-dlp. It’s not hard to use. You just type yt-dlp, paste the video link, and press enter to download the highest quality version.

The stock software will not run in Wine. I would suggest picking hardware that’s supported by Piper.

That battery is way too small. I prefer to have a 100WH battery. It definitely needs a couple more USB ports and an SD card reader.

That’s pretty impressive, but if they can’t figure out how to mass produce them cost effectively, then it’s pointless. Most of these battery breakthroughs never make it out of the lab.

For 3D modeling, you can get a 3D mouse such as the SpaceMouse.

Does your windows machine have WSL? I would just write a bash script that would DD the image to the drives. Keep in mind that you will be severely bandwidth limited by the USB interface, so it will take a long time. All of the ports on the controller share the same bandwidth. Ideally you would build a PC with lots of USB controller cards for that.

I will still use it for testing things, but I will no longer use it for installing the OS on a PC I’m going to use until they get the BLOB issue sorted out.

Even 7zip can compress a large text file to less than 25% of it’s original size. The installer is less than 2MB. There are even better compression algorithms for text than 7zip though.
