I’m not saying it doesn’t suck for this person, but product market fit is a thing for open source too. If people need it they’ll use it and contribute until something better comes along. If not, your idea wasn’t the one. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible. Nearly my whole life runs on open source software, so it’s pretty clearly sustainable.

Um. Yes. And to be blunt: obviously. And in return, I give away software I create for free whether people need it or not, and try to give back in the form of contributions too. But I’ve never once given up my day job for it. Would that be nice? Maybe. But open source software is more frequently sustained by passionate people using and expanding it for their own projects and not by expecting people to pay you for your efforts when you’re likely not paying (nodejs, github, ahem) for the software you’re building it on anyway.
Well my owner is definitely getting his money back or starting a class action suit for false advertising.
My time perception is so screwed these days. I could have sworn I’ve been here a few years at this point.
And so many other things. I’ve also used it for “cloud saves” back/forth from my desktop to my steam deck on games that don’t support them for various reasons. Dyson Sphere Program being one, because the files can get quite large.

They can’t really break compatibility though. Because the keys are baked into the hardware and the rest of the hardware is, well, hard. Unless you’re talking about Switch 2, which would of course work for Switch 2 games.
Most of this seems like it could be troublesome but developmental and not really concerning. Then the last two points went from 10 to 100 real quick. This needs to be reported to the school administration, period. There are people whose job it is to figure out the truth of the situation as best they can, but they need to know where they’re needed.
And he’s accomplished so hilariously little compared to the other billionaires out there. Not that they deserve billions either, but look at Google and the ridiculous progress they’ve made, and innovations they’ve created, and code they’ve open sourced. Steve wants to be among such “peers” in terms of wealth while having done relatively nothing.
My first choice is actually Kagi these days. I pay for my search provider to have some peace of mind that my search provider isn’t selling me.
And they’re going to be rewarding users for their contributions, the same amount as always I take it.
I want to start keeping some bumper magnets in my car for the latter category. Like that guy who tossed them onto shopping cart abandoners. Really gets me grumpy when people just zip in without zippering.

What you guys are referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
