I sent Lutris a DM on Patreon. I’ve been a patron for almost as long as it has existed. I’d really hate to stop supporting them but if they continue to tolerate racism in their official Discord I will have no choice.

What switches do people use now? I only ever had Cherrys until i switched to buckling springs. Most boards i see in stores dont seem to use Cherry, there is some sort of sheath on the switch stems now.

I still have one Cherry green board i really like. It seems built to last, and the switches feel great.

This game is buggy on Windows, moreso on Linux.

I get memory leaks when playing for longer than an hour. My pc has 48gb of memory, and i’ve caught gw2.exe taking over 10gb by itself after a long session. This has happened to me on multiple distros and machines. If you let it continue it eventually crashes the game

That said, it’s pretty playable. You can just reboot your pc when you are done.

You should try to figure out what’s going on with Ubuntu. Maybe try a different proton version, or try using proton-GE. You could also look at Lutris and either use that or copy the relevant flags they are using to your launch options in Steam.

I play (not often) on Fedora just using steam. My gpu is AMD. No big issues except the memory leak.

It also very well could still be a driver issue. Driver installation is a bit different on Linux vs Windows, perhaps something wasnt enabled or configured properly.

Supposedly Windows is actually the gold standard here, and GNOME currently has the best experience on Linux

Any examples? I think ive seen PS buttons before but i cant remember when, it’s almost always xbox layout/colors for me

This functionality is or is not part of the game itself. Windows game devs usually only expect an xbox controller, even though Dualshock and Switch Pro controllers are also popular.

How/why do people use proton-ge?

Are you using it standalone? Through Lutris or Steam? Something else?

What are the situations you’d need it over vanilla proton? Do you keep both vanilla and ge installed?

Also, do improvements generally get added to vanilla, or is ge an increasingly-divergent fork?

RAID 5/6 aren’t yet recommended for general use on BTRFS by the developers.

Other than that I agree it should be suitable for anything, and an improvement over ext4 in some situations.

If you don’t know what RAID 5/6 is you are good.

Haven’t done this myself, but supposedly you can do it with xboxdrv using the “–mimic-xpad” flag
