How did you hear about pakistani food? Where did you hear about Pakistan recently enough to recall it? Was it food related or not? If you look deep enough, yes sometimes unconsciously, we make these decisions that seem random but they are not. In a real scenario, not one just made up for the sake of debate, theres gonna be underlying reasons for your “random” choice. You could even try your darndest to be random and choose the first thing that comes to mind but you are still digging for things that it ties to “that would be unlikely therefore random” when in reality its just a word or concept you’ve unconsciously defined as unusual or different. I don’t think there is a human element or ability to choose chaos like you think there is. It just appears that way because thats the only way we are capable of perceiving it

This is my favorite take on this topic. I also feel this way and its hard to get people to look at it this way I’ve noticed. People tend to loop back to “If theres no free will why do anything?” Or “If there is no free will why should murderers be punished?” Just because theres possibly no free will doesnt mean we should change the way we live our lives.
To add to this, I’ve noticed not only here but anywhere I ask this question there is a camp of people who immediately become defensive and say the question is pointless. In person it can lead to people getting very angry sometimes at the idea and that is odd to me. I don’t really see how the question is pointless, and instead it seems to me like some people feel intimidated by it
But your whim wouldn’t really be random. It may seem random to you but there would be a reason behind it. How did you find out about the random place? You would’ve had to of come to the decision that you wanted something different somehow
I hate how hard I’m having to think about this
Upvoting you because as an atheist I think its stupid that others are downvoting just because someone says they lean towards christianity
I’m an atheist. I grew up super religious and had a falling out with my church due to their “if someone believes different than our denomination they are going to hell” mindset. After that I found out that most other denominations are like that except for mormons but they are worse in other ways. Then I did more and more research that sort of caused what belief I had left to fall apart and now its kind of like Santa Claus, once you figure out its your parents putting presents under the tree theres no believing in Santa anymore
Think about kidney stones and how a guy I know who chainsawed his leg had a kidney stone that he claims hurt worse
All three of those things. On a subconscious primal level though it means nutrition for babies

Native is fun but the community has made so many total conversion mods for it that can be swapped in and out at the launcher. It can be Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, most points of history between now and ancient Rome, and it can even be Star Wars
I am the exact opposite of most of the people I know and work with so I have to pretend to be someone I’m not in order to have a good conflict free day

I can respect that. Good closure to a discussion!
